We are very excited about this school year! We are going to Cultivate a Community of Excellence !
DOG
Students will be working on Daily Oral Geography to increase their map reading skills and general geographical knowledge. They will be using classroom atlases to answer questions about latitude, longitude and how to read a map key along with information about U.S. states, countries and continents.
Students will be allowed to use the atlases on their quizzes and record the page on which they found the correct information. Quizzes will usually be given on a weekly basis and are comprehensive. That means that each quiz will include the information reviewed during the week and may also include any information from previous weeks.
Social Studies Projects
Students will have several projects during the year. Some are individual, some are group and some are a combination of the two. Each project will be described on this website and you will be able to click on the link to the left to see (and download) a copy of the rubric along with any other reference sheets. There will also be links to outside websites that have been reviewed by the Social Studies teachers and will help students complete their research.
