Mr. Ruark's Brief Biography

A Brief Teacher Bio 2010-2011

ã        D.O. B.   11-27-63   46 ½ years old

ã        Place of birth: LA   (Lower Alabama)

ã        Two Daughters Shannon 19 (St. John’s Community College) and DA 11(Kernan Middle School, and yes, I am very sad!)

ã        One wife 4?, from New York! You gotta problem wit’ dat?

ã        Education: Hyde Grove Elementary- Lake Shore Middle- Ed White High-FCCJ-UNF (Banking and Finance and Elementary Education)

I never made the AB honor roll in elementary school, because they had a handwriting grade! However, I got my revenge later in life when I graduated number one in my class twice at UNF (they let me word process!).

ã        This is my 12^th year at CCE! Wahooooo!  

ã        Favorite Movies: Dead Poet’s Society, Last of the Mohicans, Stand and Deliver, Glory, The Emperor’s New Groove, and The Unforgiven.

ã        Favorite Line in a Movie: Jaime Escalante a calculus teacher (played by James Edward Almos) says to a tough and too-cool teenage student (played by Lou Diamond Phillips) “So, you want to be a tough guy. Great. You know what tough guys do? Tough guys deep-fry chickens for a living.”

ã        My summer reading list included: Gettysburg (The American Heritage Collection), Competent Motorcycling (there is a bunch of math and science in this book!)

ã        Favorite TV channels: The History Channel (both of them!), the Military Channel, Discovery, The National Geographic Channel, FSC (they show the English Premier League games!)

ã        Favorite Sport: Football, not the kind they play at Jaguar Stadium, rather the kind they play in England.      SOCCER       GO MANCHESTER UNITED!  BOO CHELSEA! Please ask me about my football career. I played for Dennis Violet. Dennis was the leading goal scorer for Man U for many years.

ã        Hobbies: Photography and vintage cameras, old cars and motorcycles, NASCAR, history, in home science experiments, physical fitness-especially cycling and weight training! Please ask me about my cycling adventures in NC this summer!

ã        Major quirks: I don’t eat sweets, pizza, or most of what normal people think is good food (health food kind of guy).

ã        Things you may hear me say or see me write that might need an explanation: “Too right mate” = Awesome, “You’re so bright I need shades” = Awesome, “You Rock” =Awesome, “It’ll get better before you get married” = That tiny little scratch really does not require a trip to the clinic… “On a scale of 1 to dumb that was…dumb” (I substitute many words for dumb, brilliant, true genius, annoying…)  IT’S ALWAYS SAFE TO BE WRONG, BUT IT IS NEVER SAFE TO NOT PARTICIPATE! (Class motto!)
